GL1200 Alternator Plug PDF Print E-mail

Most 1200 owners are aware of the infamous connector for the alternator.  This is just a reminder to check it frequently or remove it and solder the wires together.  The photos below are what happened to mine!  I noticed the voltage had dropped to around 13.7v from a normal 14.2v indication so I had a quick look and saved myself a new stator!

For those people who wish to replace the plug the Utilux part No's are:

  • Housing 3 Way #H3322-3
  • Housing 3 Way #H3325-3

The connectors are 6.3mm Quick Connects, use any suitable ones.

Everything should be readily available in Australia.

Note the completely melted insulation on the wire!
